Guided running tours of Washington, DC’s
monumental landscapes

Most sightseeing tours are designed to cover as much ground as possible. Monumental DC Running Tours is designed around moving through DC’s monumental landscapes at a pace that allows space, connection, and a sense of history.

Each run follows a relaxed, conversational pace, with time to notice how the monuments relate to one another as you move between them. Rather than rushing from stop to stop, the experience emphasizes flow through the landscape and an understanding of these spaces as a connected whole, not a series of isolated sights.

Tours are led personally by the founder, a local runner who returns to the National Mall regularly—not following a script, but guiding with familiarity and care. Groups are kept small by design, allowing for ease, safety, and genuine conversation along the route.

These tours aren’t races, workout classes, or history lectures. They’re a way to experience the National Mall—and its history—in motion, unrushed and present.

About Your Guide

Monumental DC Running Tours is led by me, Brie. I live in DC and run the National Mall regularly, knowing it as a place to move through, not just pass by.

The tours grew out of those runs — noticing how the monuments relate to one another when you experience them in motion, at an easy pace, with time to pay attention. I designed the runs to feel steady, welcoming, and grounded in the place itself.
