These Terms & Conditions apply to all services provided by Monumental DC Running Tours LLC (“Monumental DC Running Tours”).

By booking or participating in a run with Monumental DC Running Tours, you agree to the following terms and conditions.

Booking & Payment

All bookings must be made in advance through our website or an approved booking platform. Full payment is required at the time of booking to reserve your spot.

Tours are intentionally small and space is limited.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

Cancellations made at least 24 hours before the scheduled start time are eligible for a full refund.

Cancellations made within 24 hours of the start time are non-refundable.

If a tour is cancelled by Monumental DC Running Tours due to unsafe conditions, participants will receive a full refund.

Weather Policy

Tours run rain or shine.

Light or steady rain is considered part of the outdoor experience. In cases of unsafe conditions, such as lightning or severe weather, tours may be delayed, adjusted, or cancelled at the guide’s discretion.

If a cancellation is necessary for safety reasons, participants will be notified as early as possible and issued a full refund.

Pace & Fitness Expectations

Monumental DC Running Tours are designed for runners who are comfortable maintaining an easy, conversational pace for several miles, with planned stops along the route.

These tours are not walk-run experiences. Participants should feel comfortable running continuously between stops.

While we make regular pauses for storytelling and regrouping, participants are responsible for assessing their own fitness level and comfort.

Group Experience

Tours are conducted as a shared group experience. The guide sets the pace and determines regrouping points to maintain the flow and safety of the group.

Participants are expected to remain with the group and follow the guide’s instructions throughout the run.

Routes & Adjustments

Routes and specific stops may vary due to weather, crowds, events, construction, or temporary closures on the National Mall.

Any adjustments are made thoughtfully to preserve the overall distance, pacing, and experience. Significant changes will be communicated in advance whenever possible.

Participant Responsibility & Assumption of Risk

Running is a physical activity that carries inherent risks, including but not limited to falls, collisions, weather exposure, and physical exertion.

Participants acknowledge that they are voluntarily participating and assume full responsibility for their own safety and well-being during the run.

Monumental DC Running Tours does not provide medical advice or supervision. Participants should consult a physician if they have concerns about their ability to participate.

Liability Limitation

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Monumental DC Running Tours shall not be held liable for any injury, loss, or damage incurred during participation, except where required by law.

A separate liability waiver may be required prior to participation.

Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the District of Columbia.
